Conditions of Play

1.          18 holes Stableford for the Long Handicap Cup and the High Handicap Shield.

2.          Current handicap certificates must be produced before a competitor leaves the course at the end of the competition.  Failure to do so will make a player ineligible for a prize.

3.          COLLECT CARDS FROM THE CLUBHOUSE.                    

 

4.          Report to starter at least 5 mins. before tee off time.  Late on the tee Rule 6-3 applies, with the addition of Rule 33-1 (should a player arrive at her starting point, ready to play, within 5 minutes after her starting time the penalty for late on the tee is 2 strokes at the first hole). The Committee will take into consideration any reported major traffic disruptions in individual cases.

5.          Approved ball must be played.

6.          Tees for the day – RED MARKERS.

7.          It is not permitted to use a Distance Measuring Device.

8.          In the event of extreme weather conditions or course being unfit to play the following signals will be used; 1 long blast of the klaxon for suspension of play and a series of short blasts for resumption of play.

9.          All ties decided on a count back over the last 9,6,3 and 1 holes on the card .                                                                                   

10.      Trousers and shorts must be tailored.  Shirts must have a collar.  Golf shoes must have soft spikes.  Jeans are not permitted. Please change for the meal.

11.      The Competition Committee whose decision shall be final will settle any disputes.

12.      Lunch and coffee at lunchtime are included in the entry fee.  Coffee on arrival – cash sale.

13.      A competitor withdrawing after the closing date must inform the organiser (telephone), Janet Kilsby 01954 200176 who will then do her best to find a substitute of similar handicap.  Entry fees are not refundable after the closing date unless a substitute is found.

14.      The Competition Committee will monitor the pace of play and will take action under the Rules of Golf if players are considered to be delaying play.  It is the duty of every player to keep up with the game in front and not just in front of the game behind.

15.      Competitors with caddies requiring catering must make their own arrangements with the host Golf Club (01954718057) at least 7 days before the event.

16.      Buggies are only allowed on medical grounds. A written request for a Buggy must be made at least a week in advance and sent along with the medical certificate to the competition organisor.

17.      Compulsory drop from G.U.R.

 Apologies to the ladies who requested to play in three’s but unfortunately because there were not enough entries it was not possible to enable this to happen.
