CAMBS & HUNTS PROUD OF 2nd TEAM IN FINALS DAY!

In the Finals Cambs & Hunts played against Norfolk who last year managed to beat us 8-1. In the morning foursomes, unfortunately Tina and Mo lost to Norfolk's best two players, whilst Grace and Rosemary, Lesley and Marilize both secured wins of 6+5 to secure 4 points which gave us a great start to the afternoon rounds.
Rosemary, who led the field in the afternoon against their top player, only just lost on the 18th and played a brilliant round. Grace won easily, again, 4+3 and Mo followed her with a victory on the 18th too. Tina managed a 1/2 whilst Lesley couldn't quite manage to beat their next top player and lost only on the 18th as did Marilize.
The final score was a 1/2 with 4 points to us in the morning and another 5 in the afternoon, whilst Norfolk managed 2 in the morning and 7 in the afternoon. The ladies played fantastic golf and it certainly helped a couple of them to have played in the practice round the day before as the greens were very interesting and unlike many of our county greens.
Kay Osborne and Cindy McIntyre were the trolley dollies for the day, flying round the course in a buggy, making sure that everyone had enough food and drink and giving us all encouragement and support during the day. It was great to have them there and nice for Mo to be able to have an update whilst she was playing.
The 2nd Team have had a great season and all of us should be really proud of all the girls who have played in the team. Team Captain Mo said "I certainly feel that we have achieved a very good result for the County and have only just lost out on winning the Trophy by such a small margin of 1 Match".
