Emily Slater came through a tense play-off to win the British Junior Golf Tour two-day event at Woodhall Spa. 13 year old Emily from Girton Golf Club was up against 18 boys and one girl. After the first day she shot into the lead having played well on the Hotchkin course, despite windy conditions, recording a gross score of 83 (nett 71) to take the overall lead. She struggled on the Bracken course during the second day of the competition, shooting 87, but it was enough to hold joint first place after the 18th hole.
A sudden death play-off then took place against Harry Burt. Emily secured her victory after her opponent struggled at the first extra hole. Emily chipped on to the green and putted out to win the event with the best gross score.
