Presidents Day 2009

Kay Osborne, Mo Poole, Grace Eastment and Lesley Ince from Brampton ParkFor the second year running Brampton Park's players featured in the prizes in the President's Day Competition held at St Neots Golf Club.

In blustery conditions Mo Poole, Lesley Ince and Kay Osborne together with Menzies Grace Eastment claimed 1st prize with 89 points, one ahead of the 2nd placed Brampton quartet of Jean Temple, Shirley Osborne, Gwen Sutton and May Burn on 88 points. Bourns' Mae Kember, Pippa Hall, Judi Dooling and Daphne Santiago claimed 3rd place with 87 points, with Brampton Parks' Jane Skerry, Karen Cox, Jane McGlashan and Fay Allinson fourth with 82 points.

A special prize for the best score on the 3rd and 15th holes went to Helen Coxen, Wendy Cox, Elaine Ottley and Mo Evans (Lakeside Lodge) with 17 points.

The prizes for the longest drives were won by Kay Osborne (Brampton Park) (Silver) and Jean Mayne (Saffron Walden) (Bronze).

The nearest the pin prizes went to Margaret McCall (Girton) (4th), Christine Russell (Links) (8th), Kathy Musgrove (Royston (13th) and Marie Bayes (Abbotsley) (16th). Stella James (Menzies) took the prize for the longest putt sunk on the 18th hole.
